Jeep continues to woo the UK customer with more sales increases.

Jeep’s continued popularity in the UK is illustrated in this week’s new car registrations figures, which show another outstanding year for the legendary 4x4 brand, including a run of 16 consecutive months of year-on-year sales growth.

The iconic off-roader registered 3,899 sales in 2014, up 75 per cent compared with 2013’s results. The figures follow in line with Jeep’s global announcement this week (7 January) that the company had achieved more than one million sales during 2014, while recording a fifth consecutive year of sales increases.


The largest model in the current Jeep range, Grand Cherokee, performed exceptionally well in the UK again, with sales up 40.3 per cent compared with 2013, while the new Jeep Cherokee – the Scottish Motoring Writers’ SUV of the Year – sold 1346 units in the six months since launch, according to figures supplied by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The Jeep Compass accounted for 457 sales and the Jeep Wrangler 427.

“The sales figures for 2014 are fantastic news for the Jeep brand as a whole,” says Damien Dally, head of brand, Jeep UK. “A global figure of over one million sales for Jeep is a remarkable effort and I am delighted we in the UK have been able to help towards that total.

“With new Jeep Renegade just about to be launched in the UK, and with more, exciting developments to come from the other models in the range, I am confident we will continue this current upward trend.”

Jeep records in excess of one million sales for the first time ever, and they continue to grow.

  • Jeep global vehicle sales increase 39 per cent in 2014 to all-time annual  record of 1,017,019 units
  • 2014 Jeep sales total surpasses 2013’s previous record of 731,565 units
  • U.S. sales increase 41 per cent to a record 692,348 units
  • Fifth consecutive year of Jeep sales increases globally and in U.S.
  • All Jeep models record increased sales globally and in U.S.
  • Jeep Compass, Patriot and Wrangler record best-ever U.S. sales
  • Jeep sales increase 42 per cent in Asia-Pacific region; up 49 per cent in China
  • Sales of Jeep vehicles up 40 per cent in the Europe Middle East Africa region, while Europe sales rose by 65 per cent
The Jeep® brand recorded sales of more than 1 million units across the globe in 2014, setting a new all-time record for the third consecutive year. Sales of 1,017,019 Jeep vehicles bettered the brand’s 2013 record of 731,565 by 39 per cent.


“2014 marks the fifth consecutive year that Jeep vehicle sales have increased both globally and in the U.S. market,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand.  “While we are especially pleased with the way the new Jeep Cherokee is resonating in the marketplace, the fact is that every vehicle in the Jeep line-up recorded significant worldwide sales gains.

“While achieving 1 million vehicle sales in 2014 was certainly a milestone, 2015 will be a transformational year in the globalization of the brand, as we begin local manufacturing in Brazil and return to local manufacturing in China after an absence of nearly a decade,” Manley added.  “We will strive to continue our sales momentum in 2015 with a full line-up of capable and efficient SUVs – including the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade, as it arrives in showrooms in markets around the world.”

In addition to its 39 per cent global increase, Jeep sales rose 41 per cent in the U.S. in 2014, with a record 692,348 total sales.

Jeep sales rose 40 per cent in the Europe Middle East Africa region, while Europe sales rose by 65 per cent and 42 per cent in the Asia-Pacific region in 2014.  In China – the world’s largest automobile market – sales rose 49 per cent. 

Jeep vehicle sales were led globally and in the U.S. by Grand Cherokee (279,567 global; 183,786 U.S.), Cherokee (236,289 global; 178,508 U.S.), Wrangler (234,579 global; 175,328 U.S.), Compass (134,629 global; 61,264 U.S.), and Patriot (122,387 global; 93,462 U.S.).
2014 marked the fifth consecutive year of increased Jeep sales, both globally and in the U.S.  

In 2013 the brand recorded increases of 4 per cent global and 3 per cent in the U.S.  The previous three years saw increases of 19 per cent global/13 per cent U.S. (2012), 41 per cent global/44 per cent U.S. (2011) and 24 per cent global/26 per cent U.S. (2010).

The 2015 RS 5 Coupe Sport edition features distinctive and sporty design elements on the interior and exterior. The Audi RS 5 features a high-revving 4.2-liter V8 and a seven-speed S tronic transmission with launch control program. The 4.2 liter, naturally aspirated FSI engine delivers 450 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque to propel the RS 5 from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds and an electronically-governed top speed of 174 mph.

The 7-speed S tronic® transmission helps ensure rapid and sure shifts while the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system provides exceptional grip and features a crown-gear center differential to send power to the front and rear axle. The crown-gear center differential operates in conjunction with electronic torque vectoring as a perfect complement to the quattro drivetrain. The sport-tuned suspension renders the body 0.8 inches lower than that of the Audi A5.

The RS 5 Coupe Sport edition is developed by the Audi performance division, quattro GmbH. A total of 75 units will be produced with a starting MSRP of $87,575. Optional exclusive paint colors are available to suit customer tastes.

Rolling Stones signed JEEP Renegade up for grabs.

  • Following the spectacular "14 On Fire" summer tour featuring the Jeep brand and the legendary British rockers, an original charity initiative has put both icons back in the spotlight.
  • New, one-of-a-kind Renegade, signed by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts in Rome last year, the only Italian date of the tour, is currently up for auction at Charitybuzz.com until 23 December.
Jeep was the Presenting Sponsor and exclusive automotive partner of the Rolling Stones' spectacular "14 On Fire" European Tour that ran from 26 May to 2 July this year and in which the flagship Grand Cherokee, the most awarded SUV ever and icon of Jeep’s premium quality, played a key role. The series of concerts also provided an ideal occasion to preview the new Renegade.

The partnership between Jeep and the Rolling Stones has been further strengthened by another outstanding initiative of great social value. The vehicle in question was signed in Rome, against the spectacular backdrop of the Circo Massimo, on 22 June at the only Italian date of the tour. Special guest for the evening was the all-new Jeep Renegade, unveiled for the first time in Italy in the ancient Roman stadium following its international début at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
There could have been no finer a location for its Italian preview, given that Renegade is the first ever model in the brand's history to be built in Italy and the first Fiat Chrysler Automobiles vehicle to emerge from the collaboration of Italian and US designers.
